This month, we’re speaking to Leo Bamford.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE AND WHO DO YOU SHARE A HOUSE WITH?
In the countryside with my husband, kids and 100 animals. It’s like a scene from My family and Other Animals… I only wish it was set in Greece.
HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DO?
I have a parenting site My Baba which covers everything from pre-conception to teens.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO DO MY BABA?
It sounds ridiculous but when I started the blog there were only a handful out there. Babyccino Kids was one I really looked up to, so I dove in with one little post a day and now it’s a pretty big platform, not really a blog anymore. It all started because I wanted to share my findings with other parents and it’s grown in to a lovely community. We launched a little shop in lockdown selling all sorts of trinkets and treasure for pregnancy, babies and more.
COULD YOU GIVE US 3 WORDS THAT BEST SUM YOU UP?
I would say I’m a busy idiot, but a driven one. I hope people would say that I’m kind. How could I forget bossy? I’m bossy, busy and kind.
WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?
My husband is the king of sayings and gives the best advice. I guess “Don’t look back, you’re not going that way”.
IS THERE A SINGLE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE TO SOMEONE ELSE?
Trust your gut.
IF YOU COULD SEND YOUR 16 YEAR OLD SELF A SHORT MESSAGE, WHAT WOULD IT SAY?
Enjoy every single second and don’t take yourself too seriously. You can be anything you want to be.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU WANT TO GIVE YOURSELF A LITTLE SELF-CARE?
My favourite thing is a massage and then Pilates comes close. I love how it makes me feel. I also love walking the dogs.
WHAT ETHICS ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU AND WHY?
My parents always taught me to treat everyone with respect and kindness. I hope my kids follow such a simple value. I think it’s important to give back and I don’t do enough.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SUSTAINABLE AND ETHICAL FOOD BRANDS?
OMG now that’s a never ending one. You guys of course!!!!! I love discovering new brands and My Baba lets me do that. I find internet shopping has stamped out so much of the discovery.

My kitchen surrounded by family and friends.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
Zita and I are expanding our kids supplements and launching a mama loungewear. Super exciting.
