Products
Is your chocolate free from allergens?
Yes, our chocolate is free from common allergens including gluten, dairy, nuts, soy and sesame.
We also ensure that our supply chain, factory and machinery do not handle these common allergens. We regularly test our products for allergens in addition to our suppliers testing and procedures and they certify to us that the ingredients we purchase from them are free from these allergens.
What are the ingredients?
We only use the finest organic ingredients in our chocolate and NO refined sugar or common allergens. Our only ingredients are organic Peruvian cacao and cacao butter, creamed coconut, coconut palm sugar, and Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
- Cacao is full of essential minerals such as calcium, zinc, iron, copper, potassium and magnesium.
- Coconut is a great source of vitamins, minerals and fibre!
Do any of your products contain alcohol?
No, our products are free from alcohol.
Where do you source your ingredients?
To ensure that our chocolate is as delicious as possible and environmentally responsible, we only source our organic, single-origin, Peruvian cacao beans from small, family-owned farms. We also only use the finest organic Madagascan vanilla and organic creamed coconut from Indonesia.
Why did you decide to create allergen-free & environmentally responsible products?
As a health-conscious person, mother of young children, and a long-time chocolate lover, I found myself determined to create a delicious recipe for chocolate that didn’t contain the allergens and nasties found in your everyday chocolate bars. So, I experimented with some of the finest natural ingredients until I found a recipe for deliciously creamy chocolate made without refined sugar and avoiding common allergens.
It was also extremely important to me that our products didn’t harm the planet. So, from the way we source our ingredients to the way we package our products, we only use materials that are recycled and recyclable and plastic-free. Our wonderful toys are completely plastic-free and our chocolates are wrapped in a 100% plant based home compostable film!
What is the white void filler in my postal box made of?
To ensure your products arrive in optimal condition we use an eco-packing filler made from renewable non-GM maize starch which is dissolvable in water, home compostable and fully biodegradable.
How should I store my PLAYin CHOC products?
We recommend storing our chocolate at room temperature or somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight – between 16c-20c.
If our chocolate is kept in direct sunlight or undergoes significant temperature change the chocolate with bloom. The surface of the chocolate will appear discoloured as the ingredients separate. This will affect the taste and texture of the chocolate, however it is still completely safe to eat.

What is the shelf life of PLAYin CHOC?
From manufacture our chocolate has 12 months shelf life, expressed as a 'Best Before Expiry Date' or 'BBE' on the packaging. This is for optimal taste and texture. However it will be safe to eat beyond this date and may be sold by retailers beyond this date. 'Use By' dates are not printed on chocolate as in reality chocolate lasts much longer, at least 6 months longer if not 12 months plus. Our chocolate is not made with any water or dairy which would aid bacterial growth.
How does your subscription service work?
Our subscription service is a favourite amongst parents with young children who adore our chocolate and toys and want to have the entire range delivered to them over 12 months. You get 6 different ToyChoc boxes delivered to your door each month.
A year’s delivery is made up of 18 Endangered Animals, 18 Woodland Animals, 18 Dinosaurs, 6 Rabbits for Easter, 6 festive cubes for Christmas and 6 JustChoc Boxes - all for just £15.95 / month for 12 months including free delivery – cancel at any time.
Can I choose which animal I want?
PLAYin CHOC ToyChoc boxes contain a surprise toy from the particular range it comes from.
There are 18 sea animals,18 endangered animals to collect, 18 woodland animals, 18 dinosaurs, 6 rabbits and 6 Christmas characters – with more ranges planned. The only way to guarantee you receive the particular animal you want is to either purchase the complete gift set from the range that animal comes from or purchase the 12 month subscription offer which delivers all 66 animals over a year.
Are you FairTrade?
All are ingredients are fairly traded, being sourced from small family collectives and certified as 100% slave free, and animal labour free.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept card payments and PayPal.
What delivery options are available?
Fedex Next Day Tracked - £4.95 (Monday to Friday deliveries, orders must be made by 12pm)
FedEx charge more for deliveries to Scotland, Northern Ireland and remote postcodes.
Our factory operates Monday to Friday with daily collections from Fedex and DHL Express.
We aim to ship all orders received by 12pm out that day.
UK orders via DPD will usually arrive on a Monday to Friday within 1 or 2 days from ordering for orders received by 12pm. DHL Express tracked international orders usually take around 5 days on average to arrive.
Orders received after 12pm will be packed to send out the following working day.
We don’t operate on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays and all orders received on those days will be sent out the next working day.
All order confirmations and delivery notifications with tracking details of your order are automatically sent to your specified email address - please check your spam folders for these as they can sometimes land there.
What do I do if I am unsatisfied with the products?
We’re sorry if you are not satisfied with the products you have received and we welcome any feedback. Please email us at customerhappiness@playinchoc.com and we will do our best to resolve the issue promptly.

Do you have a refunds policy?
We will replace any product that falls below our high quality standards. Please email us at customerhappiness@playinchoc.com and we will do out best to resolve the issue promptly. Due to our SALSA accreditation, we do not accept returns for unwanted goods, as we will be unable to re-sell them.
Do you have a privacy policy?
Absolutely. We understand how important your privacy is and we will only ever collect and/or use your personal data in the ways detailed in our full privacy policy.
You will be required to read and accept our privacy policy when signing up for an account with us. If you do not agree with the details of our privacy policy, please refrain from using our site.
Chocolate Subscription FAQs:
Is all your chocolate really dairy, nut, soy free?
Yes. We only use three ingredients; cacao, vanilla and coconut milk and every last piece of our chocolate is prepared in our SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) factory, so we know there’s no chance of any contaminants.
Can I cancel my order?
We’re confident you’re going to love our chocolate but on the off chance you do need to cancel, you can do so at any time. Just send us an email customerhappiness@playinchoc.com and we’ll make sure your subscription is cancelled.
Will I get a different toy in my ToyChoc Box each month?
Every month we send a different set of toys in our ToyChoc boxes selected from our whole range. We have woodland animals, endangered animals, dinosaurs and rabbits and festive boxes for Christmas.
