It’s Organic September...
It’s Organic September. To celebrate, PLAYin CHOC founder Maya tells us about some of her favourite organic brands.
Evolve
Evolve’s super-luxe products are all made by hand in small batches in Hertfordshire, which means that they’re super-fresh. Their fragrances are delicious; the Tropical Blossom Organic Body Butter is hibiscus-scented paradise in a pot. I love their Daily Renew Facial Cream - it smells amazing as well!

Lavera
The mild and natural formulations of Lavera products means you can use them every day with no fear of them drying your skin. I love their hand cream; it’s perfect for sensitive skin and a bathroom cabinet basic in our house!
Christy Dawn
It’s impressive when companies go beyond being ‘sustainable’ and venture into trying to actively heal the earth. Christy Dawn have forged relationships with their farmers, weavers and dressmakers that help preserve the integrity of the earth. And their dresses are dreamy-yet-practical things of beauty that you’ll want to live in.
Biona
If a company has been around for 35 years, you know they’re doing something right. My store cupboard is filled with tins of Biona beans, condiments and preserved fruit and vegetables; all delicious. If you have good quality basics, everything is going to taste better!
Daylesford
You can’t beat Daylesford for fresh fruit and vegetables and larder essentials. Their veg boxes are packed with green goodness, while their farms have been pioneering sustainability for more than 40 years. It’s so reassuring to order from their site and know that every product is ethical and organic.
Clearspring
I have a weakness for Japanese food, and Clearspring have the best organic tofu, miso, soba noodles and sea vegetable snacks. Their range of teas is incredible. https://www.clearspring.co.uk/
Rude Health
We usually make our own non-dairy milks, but Rude Health’s are a fine alternative. They have a broader choice than many non-dairy milk companies, with tiger nut, cashew and turmeric latte flavours.
Viridian
It can be tricky to find ethical vitamins, but Viridian are one of the good guys. They’re UK based and family owned, and all their products are non-GM, non-irradiated and leaping bunny approved. So, as well as ensuring my family stays healthy, they also keep the planet well.

Weleda
Weleda’s products are effective, smell delicious, and are great value for money. I love their rich face cream, and have used their children’s products for my family since they were tiny. The company has been around for a century and grow their own botanics using biodynamic cultivation.
PLAYin CHOC
I couldn’t leave my very favourite organic brand out! I’m tooting my own trumpet, but I’m so proud of our achievements; not only is PLAYin CHOC chocolate truly delicious, it’s also organic and super-ethical. https://playinchoc.com/
