Award + new choc recipe

It’s been a busy start to the year!
Last week we were at the IFE show in London’s Excel Centre. We are so happy to have won the World Food Innovation Award for Best Organic Product!



The week before we were at the Vegan Life Live show in London’s Alexandra Palace.
We had some new and some improved recipes to taste test and we are pleased to share the results with you:
Of the hundreds of children who sampled the chocolate, the clear favourite from over 90% of them was a new lighter, sweeter tasting recipe. It tastes like a vegan ‘milk’ chocolate. While having the same ingredients as our existing recipe – single origin Peruvian cacao, creamed coconut, coconut sugar and Madagascan bourbon vanilla – the proportions are different so as to be less dark and sweeter tasting while still having the same nutritional values. The result is we will put this new recipe as chosen by kids into the kids cubes from now onwards.



The other thing we taste tested for adults was the existing improved recipe – now conched for 20 hours to develop an even smoother and creamy taste profile – against a newer slightly lighter slightly sweeter version. The results were closer but decisive – most adults preferred the existing improved recipe – and of the ones who tasted the slightly lighter slightly sweeter recipe they mostly weren’t sure they could taste the difference between them – which was very hard to tell I admit!



So overall we have 2 new taste flavours – the improved existing recipe and the new lighter recipe. 
The lighter recipe will go into the kids cubes and will also be available to purchase separately shortly as chocolate only without the toys – because in the words of one of the lovely people we met who emailed us after the show:
“I loved your samples of the lighter kids chocolate. Thank you so much for creating this delicious vegan chocolate. I can’t stop thinking about it”
